Dental Implants & Implant Restoration in NW Calgary
For patients in Calgary, dental implants restore a missing tooth with a replacement that looks and works like your own. At Calgary Fine Dentistry, we design and place the restoration that completes your implant, and we stay with you through every stage.
What are dental implants?
One dentist across your whole implant journey
Implant dentistry involves more than one appointment and, often, more than one provider. What matters is having one dentist who knows your full picture. At Calgary Fine Dentistry, Dr. Vredenburg plans your restoration, coordinates with the surgical specialist, and sees you through every stage, so nothing about your care is handed off without a thread of continuity. Our boutique, four-chair practice in Capitol Hill has been generationally owned since 2006, and many of the families we care for have been with us for decades. Dr. Vredenburg trained at McGill University and completed a post-graduate residency at UCLA, and her restorative work is planned with the same meticulous attention we bring to every part of your dental health. For dental implants in NW Calgary, that continuity is the difference.
Are dental implants right for you?
Ideal candidates are most adults with missing teeth, sufficient jawbone, good general health, and healthy gums. Not all patients are candidates for dental implants, and we will tell you plainly if another option would serve you better. Smoking can affect how well an implant heals, so we will discuss it openly. Whether you are a good candidate for the surgical portion is assessed by the surgical specialist. At your consultation, Dr. Vredenburg evaluates your overall suitability and restoration plan, then coordinates the surgical assessment. If an implant is not the right fit, we will talk through the treatment options honestly, including bridges and dentures, so you can decide with the full picture in front of you.

Restoration, at Calgary Fine Dentistry.
Once healed, Dr. Vredenburg designs and places the custom crown or bridge, the part you see and chew with. Final crown placement completes your dental implants in Calgary.
Implant restoration options at Calgary Fine Dentistry
Our dental implant services cover the restorations that complete your implant. Every restoration is planned around your bite, your neighbouring teeth, and the way the finished tooth needs to look and function. These are the restorations we provide.

Single Tooth Implants
A single-tooth implant replaces one missing tooth without altering the surrounding teeth. Where a traditional bridge relies on crowning the neighbouring teeth for support, an implant stands on its own root, which leaves healthy teeth untouched. The custom crown is shade-matched to your natural teeth and planned around your bite, so it looks natural and functions like your own. With good care, it is a long-term answer to a missing tooth, and one of the most natural feeling options to restore a missing tooth.

Implant-Supported Crowns and Bridges
When several adjacent teeth are missing, implants can anchor a bridge or support multiple restorations at once. An implant-supported bridge does not rely on natural teeth for support, which makes it a good alternative where a traditional bridge is not an option. Dr. Vredenburg plans the dental implants restoration around your bite and the health of the surrounding teeth, and the finished bridge is made to look and function as one natural row of teeth. You can read more about our approach on our crowns and bridges page.
Dental implants compared with dentures and bridges
Each tooth replacement option has its place, and the right one depends on your mouth, your health, and your priorities. Dental implants are fixed in place, preserve the jawbone, and leave neighbouring teeth untouched, which is why they are often the first option we discuss. A traditional bridge is also fixed and remains a good option in many situations, though it relies on crowning the adjacent teeth for support. Partial dentures are removable and more economical, though they offer less day-to-day functionality. We provide all three at our practice, and Dr. Vredenburg will walk you through the trade-offs honestly so the decision is yours to make.
What you can expect at every visit
Dr. Vredenburg plans your restoration, coordinates the surgical referral, and places the final crown or bridge, ensuring there is one constant throughout the process.
The surgical placement is handled by our trusted network of Calgary specialists, chosen for the quality of their work and coordinated with from your first appointment.
Your crown or bridge is made by the labs we trust, designed to look and function like your own, and planned around your bite.
We will tell you plainly whether an implant is the right choice for you, or whether another option would serve you better.

Caring for your dental implants
- Brush daily, as you would with your own teeth
- Floss: satin, tape, or glide floss is best. Avoid fuzzy or waxy string floss that shreds. Its filaments can catch around the implant and cause damage.
- Special brushes will be given to you when the implant crown is placed to be used to clean between the implant and adjacent teeth
- Water flossers: use with caution. Implants have a weaker gum connection compared to natural teeth, therefore using your water flosser at the lowest setting is recommended. Used at a high setting like a power washer, the pressure can cause bone-loss around your implant.
- Keep up with regular hygiene visits, tailored to your dental health needs
- Checkups: at every checkup Dr. Vredenburg will check your implant to make sure it’s functioning well. If an implant is hitting too hard against its opposing tooth, this can cause bone-loss. Every few years, a minor bite adjustment may be needed.
- Avoid habits that stress restorations, such as chewing ice or biting hard objects
- Wear a night guard if you grind your teeth

You can tell she genuinely cares. Jess, Carter, Michelle, Sue, and Michelle are all so friendly and welcoming, and they truly make the office feel like family. My hygienist Kim is excellent and builds my confidence with dental care vs. tearing me down. The whole team creates such a positive dental environment. My daughter now goes here as well and has felt the exact same way. I also really appreciate how easy billing is. I usually pay by credit card (Air Miles) and my insurance reimburses me the next day. The office itself is beautiful, with huge windows and great views, and it is a genuinely calming, comfortable space. Highly recommend this office if you dislike going to your current dentist and want to feel like a person, not a number.Posted on Google Tiffany TiessenTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I really appreciated her preventative approach to dentistry and how she walked me through my treatment plan step-by-step without making me feel rushed or pressured. You can tell Dr. V and all the staff care deeply about their patients’ health and comfort. I genuinely look forward to going to the dentist now! ⭐️Posted on Google Jessy MixTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I am sitting in the parking lot after another tremendous visit to CFD as I write this review. The work this organization and everyone in it puts in to take a genuine interest in their clientele is unmatched. Dr. V’s conservative approach to achieving optimal teeth health and her attentiveness and care towards my oral health goals makes me feel so comfortable and cared for every visit. As someone who has searched high and low for a dentist who puts their client’s needs first since moving to Calgary, I am so glad this is the dental practice I have finally landed at (heck it must be good if after leaving the dentist the first thing you want to do is write a 5 star review). Every member of the CFD team is truly remarkable and makes such a difference in my day. Cannot recommend their services more!Posted on Google Meaghan MarienTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Dr V and her whole team are truly wonderful.
